David Lynch has released a single entitled “Good Day Today” to Itunes. The dance floor ready track is going to be getting a physical release on Jan 31st via Sunday Best. The famed director has stated that more music is on the way.
2011 is shaping up to be a very busy year for Portishead. They have recently annouced that they will be curating ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror festival next summer. The 2 day event will take place from july23rd-24th 2011. Portishead will headline both nights with annouced support from DOOM, Company Flow, Swans and a slew of acts still to be annouced. If that wasnt enough the band has promised a full tour tour of the US and Europe to follow. The band will also be headlining next summer Bennicassim Internation Music Festival along side The Strokes, Primal Scream and Arctic Monkeys. Also there could possibly be a new Portishead album on the horizon as the band has annouced they will begin work on album number 4 while on tour.

After a little bit of teasing earlier this week on her site. Pj Harvey has annouced this morning that she will be releasing a new album on Feb 14th 2010. The new album entitled “Let England Shake” will be supported by a brief tour with more dates expected to be annouced. Here is hoping she will make it across the pond.

Aphex Twin recently went on record to say that he has several new albums of material completed. And if the above video is any indication, it looks like one of them may be coming on March 12, 2011.
Daft Punk grace the Dec 2010 issue of Dazed & Confused Magazine in 3d. The robot duo discuss there work on the soundtrack to Tron Legacy. The Tron Legacy soundtrack is released on Dec 7th and you can stream 30 second samples of the whole album on Amazon.com. The rumors this week hit overload that Daft Punk will be headling Coachella. Other acts being mentioned for the fest are Arcade Fire, The Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys. I’m still hoping for a PULP reunion.
Arcade Fire who have released one of the best albums of the year in ” The Suburbs”, hae released a video for the title track. The video is directed by none other than Spike Jonze and fits the song almost perfect.
Last night i was able to check out Tennis at the echo. The band played to a very packed and adoring crowd who danced around to every song. The band played selections from there buzz gaining ep and selections from the forth coming debut album.
